About

I am an Independent College Consultant and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor.

A graduate of Loyola University Chicago with a Master’s in Counseling Psychology, I workeheadshot-1d as a College Counselor at  both Loyola Academy in Wilmette, IL. and at Northside College Preparatory High School in Chicago, IL. for eight years.

For four years at Loyola Academy, I assisted approximately two hundred and fifty 11th and 12th graders through the college planning and application process.  Conducting curriculum conferences, student/parent college planning conferences, college searches, ACT/SAT score evaluation, application management, essay development and review, and college comparison and selection, I evolved into an extremely experienced College Counselor.

At Northside College Prep, I continued adding to my experience by providing guidance to approximately two hundred and fifty 9-12th graders. My work afforded me the opportunity to begin college planning with 9th and 10th graders, which bolsters my ability to guide students in high school class selection and review of high school extracurriculars.  As Northside’s college coordinator, I also coordinated the yearly calendar of college representatives’ visits, as well as meeting with them individually to stay current with majors, scholarships, and more.  In addition to this, I organized a yearly joint college fair between Northside and a neighboring Chicago Public School, which hosted approximately one hundred colleges and universities.

My positions at both schools gave me priceless opportunities to visit campuses, attend a wide variety of college-hosted functions and fairs, and conduct valuable college planning and curriculum nights for students and families.  At Northside College Prep, I created the college planning night program for my department.

An Associate Member of IECA, the Independent Educational Consultants Association, I am also a member of ICA (Illinois Counselors Association) and hold a current Type 73 School Personnel Certificate in the State of Illinois.  My active LCPC license and eight years of therapeutic background give me invaluable therapeutic skills and an enhanced ability to work with adolescents and families.  As a professional, I uphold high ethical standards and pursue yearly professional development.

A graduate of Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, IN., I studied abroad in Madras, India and understand the unique experience of an all-women’s college.  After graduating, I taught high school science in American Samoa at Fa’asao High School.
